IDOC ( Intermediate Document)
Basics of Idoc for a Functional Consultant
Idocs stands for Intermediate Documents. It is used for
transfer of business transaction data from one system to another in the form of
electronic message
Idocs are basically technical in nature therefore it is difficult for functional
consultant to understand the whole thing but needs to be aware of in order to
handle project or support issues on Idocs.
The purpose of an IDOC is to transfer data or information
from SAP to Non-sap system is done through EDI ( Electronic Data Interchange )
whereas transfer data from 2 SAP systems is done through ALE (Application Link
Enabling)
